Raise Cancer Awareness With Wristbands

Wristbands For Cause

People use cancer awareness wristbands to create awareness and raise funds for a variety of different cancers, such as breast cancer, prostate cancer, ovarian cancer, lung cancer, leukemia and lymphoma. Wearing specific cancer awareness wristbands helps bring awareness to challenges and need for researching and funding for each type of cancer.

What Is The History Of Cancer Awareness Wristbands?

  • The most popular cancer awareness wristbands are the Livestrong wristbands made by Lance Armstrong, founder of Lance Armstrong foundation.
  • These yellow wristbands were first introduced in May 2004 and are still popular today. Armstrong is a famous cyclist and a cancer survivor.
  • Yellow Livestrong wristbands were created to raise money to support cancer patients and research, as well as to raise awareness about cancer. That effort was a huge success, raising about $25 million.
Yellow was chosen as it is the color to coincide with the yellow jersey worn by Lance Armstrong during the Tour de France.
  • Other famous personalities like John Kerry, Katie Couric, Matt Damon and many other athletes wore yellow wristbands at the Athens Olympic Games.
